New government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet - taking over the 38-year reign from his father, Hun Sen.
Manet promised to continue the policies of the ruling Cambodian People's Party and said he will focus on ensuring peace and sovereignty, as well as improving the economy, people's living standards and social welfare, while addressing climate change.
US Ambassador Patrick Murphy reaffirms commitment to maintain good relations with Cambodia.
He also noted that the US is helping Cambodia to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic by providing funding for programs including Spoons Cambodia Organization, which teaches English skills to students in Siem Reap so they can find jobs in the tourism industry.
Cambodian farmer Chan Dara is researching vanilla crops in Sihanoukville.
He is not the first person to try and grow vanilla in Cambodia. However, no one has yet been able to produce high volumes of the crop. Dara believes he can overcome the challenges and make vanilla a success in Cambodia.

The banking sector is expected to report a single-digit loan growth in 2023, but this is predicted to return to double-digit growth in 2024. The sector's net profit is expected to remain stable in 2023, but its return-on-equity is anticipated to decline.
