💵 Cambodia to Sell $100m Sovereign Bonds
The government is issuing bonds for the second time after its debut exercise in 2022 to raise $300 million over a period of time...
The government plans to raise $108 million via bond issuance to finance infrastructure expenditure and pay interests on the bonds which were sold last year, according to AKP.
The national news agency was quoting the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s draft national budget law for 2024.
In 2022, the government announced its maiden issuance of $300 million sovereign bonds, which are being listed in several trenches of varying units, coupon rates and maturity, via Cambodia Securities Exchange. So far, 15 trenches have been listed.
Last week, Prime Minister Hun Manet presided over his first national budget draft where some 38 trillion riel ($9 billion) was approved for expenditure next year, with priority areas such as education, health and social earmarked for allocations.
